KNM Norge at full speed trials

A day of Joy!

To Denmark and to Tasmania: Congratulations!

One minute ago, in the Vor Frue Kirke in Copenhagen, HRH Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and Mary Elizabeth Donaldson of Hobart, Tasmania, answered, each to the other: "I do," and then took each others hand and presented each other with rings in sign thereof.

Mary Elizabeth, now Princess of Denmark, Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess, is the daughter of John Dalgliesh Donaldson, Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Tasmania, and the late Henrietta Clark Donaldson, both late of Scotland, having emigrated to Tasmania in 1963.

Frederik André Henrik Christian, Prince of Denmark, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, is the oldest son and child of Her Majesty Margrethe II of Denmark and Henrik, His Royal Highness the Prince Consort.

The church Vor Frue Kirke was first used for a royal wedding in 1363, when the 9 year old Margarethe Valdemarsdatter, daughter of Valdemar Atterdag of Denmark, married Håkon VI of Norway. Margarethe was later to be Sovereign Queen Reginant of all Norway, Denmark and Sweden.
